What You Can Expect at an Event

What You Can Expect at an Event

Each city offers programs unique to their community’s needs, but at every chapter event you can expect:

  • Safe Geek Spaces: We want you and the entire geeky community to feel safe at our events. That’s why we prominently share our anti-harassment policy and train our volunteers in creating and maintaining safe spaces.
  • No Nerd Shaming: Haven’t seen Star Wars? Can’t stand Doctor Who? That’s ok! Wherever you are in your nerdy journey, we won’t judge you.
  • Letting Your Geek Flag Fly: Whatever your preferred fandom, you’ll find folks who love that fandom too! We encourage you to share that love with others and use it to make the world a better place.

Chapter Organizers

Fox Smith

Fox Smith

President

Fox Smith fell in love with Super Heroines, Etc. in 2012 after attending her very first event, a book swap at Shameless Grounds. Since then she has grown increasingly passionate about spreading the mission of SHE to geeky spaces everywhere through comic convention panels, talks, and outreach. When not waving the Super Heroines, Etc. banner, Fox works as an actress, artist, gamer, cosplayer, writer, singer, personality, fortune teller, and all around wearer of many hats from her creative fortress in St. Louis, MO.

Amber Lee

Amber Lee

Treasurer

Amber joined the Board of Super Heroines, Etc. in the summer of 2018. After moving in her country home in St. Clair County, Illinois with her husband, dog, and three cats; she made the decision to do more and to help create more positive in the world. Amber thrives in the nonprofit world ever since she landed her career in 2015 working with veterans with spinal cord injuries and diseases. She has dedicated her life to supporting nonprofits that she can pour her heart into, with amazing missions such as SHE! When Amber isn’t holding up her nonprofit flags, she can be seen creating art (especially photography), training dogs, or simply enjoying a nice cup of coffee on her porch.
